To get a quick overview of prices and flight times, we use the app Skyscanner. We then make final bookings through the airline's own website. There are daily flights with Brussels Airlines, Vueling, Tuifly or Ryanair to Málaga Airport. Also consider flying via Eindhoven, as some official vacations fall differently than in Belgium and prices may differ. Transavia and also Ryanair fly from Eindhoven to Málaga.

Rental cars: there are many car rental companies in Spain, some more reliable than others. The cheapest does not always turn out to have been the best buy afterwards....
From experience, we recommend Malagacar: correct, flexible and affordable. Book online (be on time during vacation periods). After booking, Malagacar will give you all the info about the pick-up point for the shuttle bus. From there you are 2 minutes later at Malagacar itself where you will need your ID card and driver's license to pick up the reserved car. GPS: there is no need to rent a GPS, as a smartphone comes standard with a GPS. Use Google Maps or the app Waze so we can provide you with the exact location of Casa Otjo.

In the Axarquia there are protected natural areas, such as the Parque Natural Sierras de Tejeda that has as many as 1,200 km of hiking trails. This region is a true paradise for nature lovers.

There is, of course, the famous Caminito Del Rey, once the most dangerous hiking trail in the world, unfortunately very crowded today.

An excellent alternative is its little brother El Saltillo.

It is wonderful cycling in Andalucía. There are many possible climbs, the landscape is varied and lined with whitewashed villages. The roads are usually well maintained and wide, and Spaniards drive slowly and carefully.

There are numerous bike routes for all types of bikes. You can rent bikes in Torre Del Mar and possibly have them delivered to Casa Otjo (request in advance).
